In iOS 12 or earlier, whenever you turn on Find My iPhone, you can easily find your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple Watch, and AirPods in case they lost.
In iOS 12 or earlier, find My iPhone helps you locate and protect your Apple device if it’s ever lost or stolen. Only you should sign in to iCloud.com or the Find My iPhone app to follow your missing device on a map, play a sound to help you find it, use Lost Mode to search and follow it, or erase all of your personal information remotely.
Setting up Find My iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, AirPods
- Start at your Home screen.
- Tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Find My iPhone.
- Slide to turn on Find My iPhone and Send Last Location.
If you’re asked to sign in, you should enter your Apple ID. If you forgot your Apple ID, then we can help you find it out.
Don’t forget, when you set up Find My iPhone, your paired Apple Watch and AirPods are set up too automatically.
Setting up Find My Mac
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences.
- Click iCloud.
- Check the box to turn on Find My Mac.
When you see a Details button next to Find My Mac, click Details > Open Security & Privacy > Enable Location Services. If Enable Location Services is dimmed in Security & Privacy preferences, click and enter the name and password of the computer administrator.
